Welcome & success settings

This is where you configure how you communicate with your survey participants at the beginning and end of the survey: Welcome Message, Welcome Image, Success Message, Success Image, Email options, and the Alternative Success URL. Combine these with SurveyPlanet’s white labeling options — like a custom logo and survey URL — for a fully branded experience from start to finish.

Welcome message

You can add or edit the welcome message on the Welcome & Success Settings page:

  1. In the Welcome Message input field, enter the message you want displayed at the beginning of your survey.
  2. Select Save Options.

Welcome image

As a Pro subscriber, you can also add an image that’s displayed with your welcome message:

  1. On the Welcome & Success Settings page, select the gray image box below Welcome Image.
  2. Select a previously uploaded image from your Light Box or upload a new one.
  3. Once you upload the image, select the thumbnail to add it to your survey.
  4. Select Save Options.
  5. To delete your welcome image, select Clear.

Your welcome image also changes the survey’s thumbnail. When you share your survey in a message or on social media, the welcome image appears as the thumbnail.

Your welcome image is your thumbnail image once you share your survey link on social media.

Email

To change whether you want to ask for the survey participant’s email address, select the Email dropdown and choose Optional, Required, or None.

  • Optional: Asks for the participant’s email address, but doesn’t require it.
  • Required: Requires a correctly formatted email address (for example, name@domain.com) before the participant can continue.
  • None: Doesn’t ask for an email address.

After making this change, select Save Options at the bottom of the page.

Completely anonymous survey

You can also choose to make your survey completely anonymous by selecting the Completely Anonymous checkbox. This means that SurveyPlanet doesn’t capture any identifying information about your survey participants, including IP address, locations, referrers, browser details, and operating systems.

Success message

At the end of your survey you can have a custom message display instead of the default one from SurveyPlanet:

  1. In the Success Message input field, enter the message you want displayed at the end of your survey.
  2. Select Save Options.

As a Pro subscriber, you can also add an image that’s displayed with your success message:

  1. On the Welcome & Success Settings page, select the gray image box below Success Image.
  2. Select a previously uploaded image from your Light Box or upload a new one.
  3. Once you upload the image, select the thumbnail to add it to your survey.
  4. Select Save Options.
  5. To delete your success image, select Clear.

Alternate success URL

As a Pro subscriber, you can have an alternate success URL. Instead of staying on the SurveyPlanet website with your survey, you can have the end of your survey redirect to a website of your choosing:

  1. In the Alternative Success URL input field, enter the URL you want to redirect to.
  2. Select Save Options.

Alternate success URL delay

When using an alternate success URL, you can also add a delay.

  1. In the Delay input field, enter the number of seconds to wait before redirecting.
  2. Select Save Options.
